At Tailored, we strive to empower people to fundraise well as the end of the year. But it's important to remember that the year end isn't the only time you can make direct appeals.

You can make a direct appeal as often as once a quarter, even using the same strategy as a year end appeal. Three major principles of a direct ask stand out:

1- Focus on the impact (not the bills).

2- Pick a specific project to focus on (just one, really!).

3- Have a specific goal for people to contribute towards.

Be mindful to connect with people between your direct appeal throughout the year and your year end appeal, if you choose to do one.

Connect with people simply to say thank you and remind them of the impact that's being made through their financial partnership. If your only communication is about money, then you're missing out on an important relationship with your donors.

Jenny Karr, Director of Training & Coaching Services

My mission is to train, equip, and support people in ministry and as the Director of Training and Coaching Services, I get to do all of those things in one role! When I’m not coaching, training, or writing blogs, I’m enjoying time at home or in the city with my husband, daughter, and friends here in Nashville, TN.

Let's talk about your fundraising plan!
