When I was in college, I would purposely call my parents every Sunday. I love them very much, but if I didn’t call them on Sunday, I would completely forget to call them at all. Weeks would pass, and I would have angry parents because I forgot to call them - again.

The same goes for your financial partnership team. Your financial partners are - yes, they ARE PART - of your ministry. You need to find some sort of regular time, almost a habit, when you can spend a few minutes updating these important people. And you should practice that habit every week or every month.

If you’re tech savvy, sites like MailChimp can be an easy, effective, and FREE way to communicate. Facebook and Twitter are also free resources for regular, quick updates.

If you’re a little less of a techie and computer work makes you insane, type out a personal email to one of your favorite financial partners (psst...it’s okay, we all have favorites.) Then copy and paste the words of that update in a separate message to each person’s email address on your funding partners list. It’s a good way to keep your message consistent, and it’s OK that it’s not perfectly personal.

And, by all means, call your parents on Sunday.
