Dustyn Burwell, Fundraising Coach

What gets you excited about coaching?

A chance to see people live out the the dreams God has for their lives. Coaching gives hope and creates strategies that help people break through barriers that would keep them from stepping into that future, but a major barrier can be fundraising. Tailored is committed to coming alongside missionaries and helping those called to get to the field faster and go further.

What's your #1 tip for gaining new funding partners?

Focus on the person in front of you and make a clear, compelling ask.

Tell us about a time where you helped someone overcome a significant barrier to successful fundraising.

Recently, I was working with a client who needed to raise funds for the next couple of months so he could dive headlong into a project that would set him up for years to come. His greatest challenge was crafting the story before asking for partnership. Through coaching, he developed a narrative and secured the funds in just a couple weeks!

Where can we find you on the weekends?

You can usually find me hanging out with family at one of the parks or castles around Ireland (where we currently live), near a beach, or having meals with friends. We go to church on Sundays, so I try to to spend time being present and in the moment, rather than doing and thinking about what needs to be done.

Where you have served as a missionary?

I'm currently church planting and serving with an organization called Greater Europe Mission in Dublin, Ireland. We have been through this process of developing and cultivating a team of people that financially and prayerfully partner with us for the past three years. It's been exciting to see how God moves in the heart of people to invest in Kingdom impact here.
